Welcome to Autorotation.net

Autogyro, Autogiro, Gyrocopter and Gyroplane.

This is a site for those who aviate through Autorotation, namely Gyroplane pilots and possibly the occasional helicopter pilot.

Open an account, login, create a blog for your aircraft or yourself and share your experiences. If you have any questions feel free to air them within the Forum. These are early days for us so we would value your input and requests. Although aimed toward gyro pilots we are not exclusive and would welcome input from other aviators sharing their adventures and experiences or problems and concerns.

This is also the home of the Gyroplane Competition Committee.

Registering for the Open Competition does NOT require you to create an account with us.

Thoughts on Ditching a Gyrocopter

Apr
19

As the flying season is now underway and some of us are thinking of flying further afield how many of us think about the "what if" element of having to make a forced landing into water.  Out of habit we fly about looking at places where we may be able to put down should we need to and ideally be able to get out of again.  But how well do we plan for, if ever, the prospect of going into water?
OK so you're heading to France, so you've probably done a fair amount of planning but what about if you're just out for a regular days flying?
